Blue ceramic flower pendant, hand-painted, Khatka studio

This handmade ceramic flower pendant is entirely hand-painted in blue, with silver stitch details that weave the design together. Each piece is crafted using a unique technique, giving every pendant its own distinct shape, size, and color — genuinely one-of-a-kind.

The design is a modern interpretation of the embroidered elements found in Cossack officers' attire from the 17th–18th centuries, reflecting the opulence and sophistication of Ukrainian urban nobility at a time when Russian imperial policy sought to diminish Ukrainian culture as simple, pastoral, and archaic. The Cossacks — self-governing military units that emerged in the steppes of Eastern Europe from the 15th century — played a crucial role in defending Ukrainian lands and preserving cultural identity. This pendant honors that heritage while celebrating the resilience and richness of Ukrainian art and history.

How to wear it: Wear it as a striking solo pendant over a simple top or dress, letting the blue tones stand out — an easy way to bring color and character to a plain outfit without much effort.

Khatka is an art studio in Ukraine, born from the collaboration of two talented artists who share a passion for ceramics as a medium for their creative expression. Drawing inspiration from traditional Ukrainian culture, Khatka explores the meanings and interpretations of rituals, regional paintings, and embroidery, translating these influences into contemporary designs.

With a unique approach, the artists convey their impressions and emotions through their own techniques and modern materials, creating pieces that not only enhance everyday life but also resonate with cultural significance. Their work encompasses both jewelry and interior items, each embedded with cultural codes expressed through shapes, colors, and symbols.

What sets Khatka apart is their commitment to craftsmanship: every item is handmade and hand-painted without the use of casting techniques, ensuring that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Through their creations, Khatka aims to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, inviting you to celebrate the richness of Ukrainian culture in your daily life.
